Nevada’s Recovery and Prevention Community is hosting the 3rd annual Scholar’s Breakfast on Thursday, February 7th, 2019 at 8 am. Join us for a light breakfast and a brief presentation as we highlight the programmatic and student accomplishments of 2018 and share our vision for the future. A conference focused on breaking down silos and promoting the use of frontline health workers (such as Community Health Workers) to improve community health and chronic disease management! Impact will have breakout sessions focused on developing skills as well as administration of CHWs in an organization. The second day will focus on promoting CHWs and other frontline health workers, as well as their current successes, challenges, and workforce support and development opportunities. Held over two days (May 7th and 8th), the Impact Summit welcomes all health professionals.

- Understand the current availability of prescription drug abuse treatment at nevada’s community health centers (chcs), rural health and tribal clinics.
- Understand public resources available to support safe prescribing of opioids and overdose response.
- Provide practical tools that any chc or rural health center could use to address prescription drug abuse and opioid abuse, including alternative therapies and payment issues.
