Alma Spears

About

Alma Spears, LMFT, is a bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with experience working with individuals, couples, families, children, and teens across a variety of clinical settings. Her clinical work is deeply informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), trauma-informed care, attachment theory, EMDR-informed interventions, and experiential approaches that support emotional healing, nervous system regulation, and authentic connection. Alma has specialized experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, relational conflict, grief, life transitions, and couples using Intimacy From the Inside Out (IFIO).

Alma is passionate about helping emerging clinicians build confidence in their clinical voice while developing strong foundational skills in attunement, conceptualization, ethics, and relational work. She values creating a supervision space that is supportive, collaborative, and growth-oriented, where interns feel safe to ask questions, explore challenges, and deepen both their clinical skills and sense of Self as therapists.

Interns working with Alma can expect a supervision experience that balances compassion with accountability. She encourages curiosity, authenticity, cultural humility, and reflective practice while helping interns strengthen their ability to work with complex systems, trauma, and emotionally activated clients. Alma especially enjoys supporting clinicians interested in IFS-informed therapy, couples work, trauma processing, and experiential interventions.
