About
I am a Nevada Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor Supervisor (LADC-S) with more than 10 years of experience in substance use counseling, clinical services, program administration, and leadership. I currently oversee the Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) program at China Spring Youth Camp and maintain a private counseling practice in Nevada. These professional roles reflect my commitment to providing substance use treatment services, supporting recovery, and promoting professional development within the behavioral health field.
Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with court-mandated adolescents and adults, including youth involved in juvenile probation, adolescent drug court participants, and adults receiving court-mandated outpatient treatment. My clinical experience includes individual and group counseling, clinical assessments, treatment planning, case management, clinical documentation, staff training, and program oversight.
For three years, I served as Director of an adolescent drug court program in Carson City, Nevada. This experience strengthened my understanding of adolescent substance use treatment, juvenile justice services, multidisciplinary collaboration, and the importance of combining accountability with therapeutic support and opportunities for positive behavioral change.
In addition to my program leadership responsibilities, my private practice in Nevada allows me to continue contributing to the delivery of substance use counseling services. My professional approach emphasizes individualized care, ethical practice, appropriate professional boundaries, and helping clients develop the skills necessary to support meaningful and sustained recovery.
I am interested in developing internship opportunities through China Spring Youth Camp for students pursuing careers in substance use counseling. My goal is to provide a structured, supportive learning environment where interns and trainees can strengthen their clinical knowledge, counseling skills, ethical decision-making, and understanding of substance use treatment.
My approach to supervision emphasizes professional integrity, client confidentiality, appropriate documentation, evidence-informed practices, cultural responsiveness, and ongoing professional development. I value reflective learning, constructive feedback, and opportunities for interns to connect academic instruction with practical clinical experience.
