Rochelle “Shelley” Poerio

About

I have been a substance abuse counselor since 2009 when I received my first certificate to practice in Arlington, VA. I have been in active, uninterrupted recovery from an alcohol and cocaine addiction since Sept 5, 2001. Since moving to Nevada in 2013, I became licensed, then in 2015 an LADC-S. I founded Living Free Health (LFH) in 2013. The agency was started from nothing – literally. We now have 28 employees. LFH delivers outpatient treatment and supportive housing, as well as has a specific women/children/pregnant women’s house and program. Aside from most of these services being unique in Nye County, I founded two therapeutic workplaces: Living Free Cafe and Living Free Gym. These businesses provide paying jobs and real-world job skills and workforce development to those in early recovery. We’re a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and operate with an entrepreneurial energy. Working with us at LFH, you can expect a lot of real world experience, hands-on learning, assumption of responsibility and ability to contribute to our “idea factory” in creating and delivering leading-edge solutions to intractable problems.
